the Bicycle Pump Track at Whitney Community Park

Learn. Grow. Ride.

In the heart of Rocklin, the Whitney Park Bicycle Pump Track stands as a testament to community-driven outdoor recreation. This free-to-use, all-weather asphalt track offers riders of all ages and skill levels a safe and enjoyable space to develop their biking skills and confidence.

The vision for the pump track was brought to life through the dedication of the Rocklin Bike Coalition, a nonprofit committed to advocating for the safe use of bicycles as a healthy and enjoyable form of outdoor recreation. Since 2020, the Coalition has worked closely with city council members and the Parks & Recreation Department to develop inclusive recreational amenities that benefit both current and future families in Rocklin.

Chaz Halbert, President of the Rocklin Bike Coalition, has been instrumental in this initiative, collaborating with city leaders and community members to transform the vision into reality.

Where to Go

  • Location: Whitney Community Park – 1801 Whitney Ranch Pkwy, Rocklin, CA
  • Best Parking: Use the Whitney Ranch Pkwy entrance. The track is near the baseball fields.
  • Hours: Open daily from sunrise to sunset
  • Cost: Free to use, no registration required

Good to Know

  • The track is asphalt, which means it's rideable year-round, but we recommend avoiding it when wet.
  • Restrooms are available at the park.
  • There's no shade on the track itself, so bring a hat or umbrella if you're spectating.

Etiquette & Safety Tips

  • Ride One Way – The track flows in a single, counter-clockwise direction.
  • Take Turns – Allow others reasonable space, and welcome newcomers. It’s more fun when everyone gets a fair shot.
  • Don’t Stop on the Track – Pull off to the side if you need a break.
  • Encourage Others – Cheer each other on. We all start somewhere.

Respect the Track

  • No motorized vehicles (including e-bikes or scooters)
  • Keep it clean — pack out what you pack in
  • Report damage to Rocklin Bike Coalition.
