What started as one agent, Chaz Halbert, helping friends and neighbors find their footing in Placer County has grown into a team of professionals who share the same passion for people and place.
Chaz built his business with a simple approach: treat every client like family, offer honest advice, and always put people before transactions. As that philosophy resonated with more and more clients, the vision expanded — not just to grow a team, but to create a brand rooted in those same values.

Chaz Halbert
Founder & Realtor®
Chaz is the heart behind Trailhead. A longtime Placer County local and cycling enthusiast, he founded Trailhead Real Estate with a vision to bring together authentic service, strong relationships, and deep local roots. Known for his straightforward approach and relentless dedication, Chaz is committed to making the buying and selling process feel less stressful—and more like the start of something great. Whether you're moving across town or across the country, Chaz is here to guide the way.
Tim Klotz
Realtor®
Tim Klotz brings over two decades of real estate experience and leadership to the Trailhead team, along with an energy and people-first mindset that clients and colleagues alike genuinely appreciate. A licensed agent since 2003, Tim has worked across both commercial and residential real estate, owned and sold a successful brokerage, and served as CEO of Keller Williams East County. He’s known for bringing clarity to complex deals, thinking strategically, and showing up with enthusiasm, integrity, and heart.
Born and raised in the Sacramento area, Tim is a devoted husband and dad to two boys. He’s deeply rooted in the community—not just through real estate, but also through service. He currently sits on a local school board and actively volunteers with his sons’ mountain biking team, often traveling the country for national competitions. Nicknamed the “Team Mom,” Tim is the one you’ll find prepping team meals, tuning bikes, and cheering the loudest at the finish line.
Outside of work and family, Tim is an avid outdoorsman and self-proclaimed foodie. Whether it’s skiing, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, or hunting, he’s always chasing the next adventure—or the next great meal.
For Tim, real estate is more than a career—it’s a way to connect with people, simplify a complex process, and help others move forward with confidence and clarity.
Sofie Halbert
Brand & Experience Guide
Sofie is the behind-the-scenes guide shaping the look, feel, and experience of Trailhead Real Estate. As Brand & Experience Guide, she’s the creative mind behind everything from staging and social media to gifting, events, and the overall vibe of the brand. Her goal is to make every client interaction—from listing day to closing—feel thoughtful, beautiful, and uniquely Trailhead.
With a natural eye for design and a passion for storytelling, Sofie ensures each home is presented in its best light and every brand touchpoint feels intentional and personal. She may not always be front and center, but her fingerprints are on everything we do.
When she’s not working her magic behind the scenes, Sofie enjoys cooking, crafting, and spending time with her two beautiful kids—her greatest and most exciting adventure.
